Minimum Qualifications
- Has an associate degree in nursing or
- Has a bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Has a valid nursing license certified by the state’s national licensing body
Work Experience
- Has experience providing direct care to patients in a behavioral care agency
- Capable of observing, assessing, and recording symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients
- Has experience assisting physicians during treatments and examinations of patients and administering medication
Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledgeable in the services offered to individuals with behavioral health issues and substance abuse
Key Responsibilities
- Educate residents regarding their medication, its risks, benefits, and outcome expectations
- Develop policies and procedures for the agency’s self-administration process.
- Monitor the residents’ self-administration of medication reports for errors, refusal, overdose, or side effects.
- Train the personnel in the agency on the self-administration of the medication process and monitor their performance in implementing the policies.
